PUCHONG, June 5 – Malaysia’s first digital cable TV network plus high-speed Internet services will be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak this Saturday.

Operated by Asian Broadcasting Network (M) Sdn Bhd, the cable TV plus high-speed Internet services under the brand ‘ABNxcess’, will be launched at 7.30pm at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

The theme of the launch ‘ERA BARU’ signifies the birth of a new era which makes TV plus Internet highly affordable to all Malaysians.

With the theme, ABN is delivering on its promise of “Access for All”, ensuring that all strata of society have good access to education, information and entertainment content and be line with the Government’s vision to bridge the digital divide and build a strong knowledge-based economy.

The highlight of the launch is the concert at night. The list of luminaries include:
• Dato’ M Nasir – a local legend with a great reputation as a poet, singer-songwriter, composer, producer, actor and film director.
• Anuar Zain – a multi award-winning artist with four albums under his name
• Hariharan (India) – an Indian singer who has sung for Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Telugu films, an established ghazal singer, and one of the pioneers of Indian fusion music.
• Bob Tutupoly (Indonesia) – a legendary Indonesian singer famous for many hits including the song “Widuri”.
• One Nation Emcees – a hip-hop group from Sabah. In 2008, the group won the title of champion in the second season of reality show “Gang Starz”.
• Soo Wincci – In 2009 Wincci became the 1st Miss World Malaysia to come out with her self-composed singing album.
• Najwa Latif – a You Tube sensation with her single “Cinta Muka Buku”.
• Somnur Monir Konal (Bangladesh) – a famous and talented Bangladeshi singer, film actress and model.
• Nabil (Host) – a Juara Raja Lawak and presenter.
• Linda Onn (Host) – a famous actor and radio personality.

Admission to the concert is free. Registration for free tickets can be done at www.abnxcess.com or at the Carnival in the afternoon.

The Carnival, to be held outside the stadium, will involve content providers who will showcase their programmes. Other activities include:
