GE13: No black-out in Bentong – police

BENTONG, May 7 — There was no black-out in Bentong, police said today.

Bentong police also denied reports in the social media of a commotion and demonstration after the vote counting at Dewan Jubli Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Bentong in last Sunday’s 13th general election.

Bentong district police chief Supt Mohamad Mansor Mohd Nor said there was no commotion, procession or demonstration, as well as electricity supply disruption, and the election process went well.

“Only a small group of opposition supporters gathered by the road side in front of Dewan Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah to celebrate their victory in the Bilut, Ketari and Sabai state seats, but they dispersed 15 minutes later,” he told Bernama here today.

Mohamad Mansor said police had taken necessary measures to prevent any untoward incidents, adding that such a rumour was spread to tarnish the good name of the police force. – BERNAMA
